I was relieved because there were plenty of appointment times open and I didn’t have to keep checking back or rearrange my whole day, I just picked the one that worked best for me, booked it really easily, and was done in a couple minutes.

I got my taxes done here and the person helping me was really nice, so no complaints there. But when I saw the fee, I was stunned. For what felt like a simple return, the price seemed way higher than I expected and kind of left me wondering what just happened. I probably should’ve asked more questions upfront, but still, it felt pricey for what I got.

I went to Jackson Hewitt for my taxes this year, the return looked mostly right. The numbers were pretty much what I expected, so at first I was like, okay, maybe the tax universe isn’t completely out to get me.
But then I noticed one little thing on a form that didn’t seem quite right. They fixed it after I brought it up, which I appreciated, but it did make me feel like, hmm, how many tiny errors slip through the cracks when nobody questions them? Not saying there’s a whole hidden tax-prep machine watching us, but I’m also not not saying it.
Overall, it was an okay experience and they handled the issue without a fuss. I’d use them again if I needed to, but I’d definitely recommend double-checking every line yourself before filing, because trusting the system blindly is exactly how they get you.

Communication was hit or miss for me. They did explain a few things, but some of it felt unclear, and I had to ask more than once to get straight answers. I felt a little misled at times because what I thought was happening didn’t always match what they later explained

My snap judgment? It was fine, not amazing. I did get the refund advance quickly, which was the main thing I needed. I had an issue with my filing getting someone to actually help was kind of frustrating. I called a few times and kept getting different answers, which just made everything more confusing, like, I was already stressed, and then I didn’t even know who to believe. They did finally get it sorted out, so I’ll give them credit for that, but it took way longer than it should’ve. Not the worst experience ever, just not one I’d want to deal with again.

The staff was really professional and made the whole thing easy. They got it done without any hassle, and I had a good experience overall.

My preparer explained all the tax stuff in normal words instead of acting like I should already know it, and she even caught something I completely missed.
